Former Physician Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician now faces charges for committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
