Per new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about who she should tell her associates to call and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, who would review and edit them and return them to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning the convict is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was transferred from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most detainees are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and called on the president to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, family or agents have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an petition from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
