Around twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Residents observed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around one thousand residents in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its wettest day in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations received 598 emergency reports across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Wyndham - nearly 180 emergency requests
During the peak on yesterday, in excess of 28k power users in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk anticipated across various areas of both regions.
Health Warning
Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the area.
