The NWSL has announced a significant new regulation designed to allow its clubs to battle on the worldwide market for premier players. Titled the "High Impact Player Rule," this measure lets teams to go beyond the association's salary cap by a maximum of $1 million expressly to lure and keep marquee players.

Focused on Keeping Pivotal Players
