Recent Information Surface Regarding the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Recent details have emerged concerning the tragic passing of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.
A Discovery
As detailed in an account quoting a family associate, a therapist arriving for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the residence. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.
When she went into the residence, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Developments
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now in custody without bail.
Clarifications
The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
Furthermore disputed published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement also extends to accounts of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.
Investigation Details
As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for some hours.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
