Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following recent talk regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the number of penalties each committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

However it was positive to see how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the top defender in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra defenders instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, it was noted on a program that the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up big and recent RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a team that wants to run first, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in positive down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, being able to pass on the run, as well as using varied release points to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and can pass in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to be in play extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defense has to defend the field downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

Payton owns a championship and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success Denver are having offensively is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to face an elite team at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to hold the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges on what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
